Brookfield and Societe General team up on $10.7b private credit fund

Brookfield Asset Management and Société Générale have joined forces to address the surging demand for private credit by launching a new private debt fund. The fund aims to raise a substantial €10 billion (approximately $10.7 billion) over the next four years.

Initially commencing with €2.5 billion, the fund's focus will be on investments in sectors like power, renewables, data, midstream, and transportation. It is strategically designed to cater to the specific investment needs of insurance companies, offering investment-grade products tailored to meet their rating and duration requirements.

This partnership will harness the combined strengths of both companies, including their origination capabilities, operational expertise, and deep knowledge of real assets. Leveraging their robust institutional relationships, the collaboration seeks to deliver enhanced value to their respective clients and shareholders. Additionally, it will enable Société Générale and Brookfield to significantly expand their role in global economic financing by providing substantial commitments with innovative forms of capital.
