CVC Capital Partners, a renowned global private markets manager, specializing in private equity, secondaries, credit, and infrastructure investments, has successfully concluded its sixth Asia-focused fund, Asia VI, securing a substantial $6.8bn in capital commitments.
The Asia VI fund marks a significant milestone, being 50% larger than its predecessor, Asia V, which reached $4.5bn upon closure in 2020. Benefiting from robust support from both new and returning blue-chip investors, Asia VI comfortably surpassed its initial $6bn target and original hard cap, illustrating confidence in CVC's investment strategy.
This closing elevates CVC's total capital raised for its Asia platform to an impressive sum exceeding $21bn. Asia VI will concentrate on control, co-control, and partnership investments within core consumer and services sectors across Asia, leveraging CVC's extensive experience in the region since 1999, encompassing over 80 acquisitions.
The successful fundraising for Asia VI adds to CVC's string of triumphs across various investment strategies, including private equity, secondaries, and credit. Notable recent closings include CVC Capital Partners Fund IX at €26bn, Glendower Capital Secondary Opportunities Fund V at $5.8bn, and CVC CLO Equity III at $800m, all concluding at their respective hard caps, underlining CVC's continued prowess in the global investment landscape.
