Olympic swimmer Jensen, Harpoon Ventures raise $124m for Fund IV

Harpoon Ventures, founded by former Olympic swimmer Larsen Jensen, has concluded its third institutional fund, securing approximately $125 million, albeit falling short of the initial $225 million goal. Jensen, who transitioned from winning Olympic medals to serving in the US Navy SEALs, ventured into the world of venture capital after stints at Andreessen Horowitz and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Serving as the sole General Partner at Harpoon Ventures, Jensen raised $45.2 million for the first institutional fund in July 2020 and followed up with $122 million for Harpoon Ventures Fund III in June 2021. Despite the Fund IV target of $225 million, the final close reached $124.2 million from 94 investors in December 2023, marking another milestone for the firm.
