Parabellum Capital, a spinoff from Credit Suisse, recently concluded a successful capital raise, securing a substantial $754 million fund for litigation finance. The fund, the firm's third and largest to date, underscores the increasing appeal of litigation finance as an alternative investment avenue with returns independent of equity markets.
Parabellum has allocated two-thirds of the fund across 50 strategic investments, involving the financing of commercial litigation. While the firm maintains confidentiality about specific investors and the lawsuits being supported, this capital raise follows their previous $465 million fund in 2020, which resulted in 78 investments across 400 to 500 cases. The successful closure positions Parabellum as a key player in the expanding landscape of litigation finance within the private equity sector.
