Verdane, the European specialist growth investment firm, has successfully concluded its fundraising efforts for Verdane Capital XI, reaching its maximum target of €1.1 billion. This latest fund dwarfs its predecessor, boasting almost double the size. Remarkably, investors from 21 different countries contributed to the oversubscribed fund, which attracted a diverse range of backers.
Investors in Verdane Capital XI encompass private and public pension funds, global university endowments, foundations, insurance companies, family offices, and government agencies. An interesting highlight is the fund's strong support from existing investors, with more than 100% of them choosing to reinvest from the previous fund, Verdane Capital X, which had closed at €610 million based on committed capital. Notably, a significant portion of the capital commitments for Capital XI originates from non-profit organizations.
Verdane's investment strategy involves taking both majority and minority positions in single companies or portfolios of companies, with equity investments ranging from €20 million to over €150 million. This successful fundraising marks a significant milestone for the firm, reflecting strong investor confidence and support.
